...when I break away from the traditional 5-7-5 format of haiku. It's a new month, and I'm ready to try something a little different. Not to say that I won't return to 5-7-5 from time to time, but it won't be every day. That said, here is today's haiku:
Fireflies
Lighting my path
on the drive home.

Well there's something new I learned. I didn't know Hiakus could be less than 5-7-5.

Surprise! :) I took a haiku class in college, which was awesome (probably one of my favorite classes ever), and that was one of the things we learned. Apparently anymore it's more likely that haiku will NOT be the 5-7-5 format. In a way I still like the 5-7-5 better because I feel like I need the limits it imposes...but I refuse to not try something else. ;) Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it!
