Where Soul Meets Body

In my head there's a Greyhound station, where I send my thoughts to far-off destinations...so they may have a chance of finding a place where they're far more suited than here.

A Whole Galaxy of Emptiness

Stars light the sky in a galaxy of emptiness tonight.

In the Dead of the Night

All that burns is the candle, and the fog melts over the night...it softens the edges, I begin to write.

In This Silence

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...and I wanted to believe that I'd get caught up when the rage in me subsides. In this white wave I am sinking, in this silence. In this white wave, in this silence, I believe.

Little Dreams

On a sunny afternoon, made of something light as nothing, made of joy that matters too...How the little dreams we dream are all we can really do.

Tiny little bodies

I hear the bells
ringing in the distance
for her it rang too soon.

With each passing day
I grow a little older
a little more weary.

My heart still aches to talk to you

waking even from dreams
you were absent from.

not a bright star
in the entire galaxy
as bright as she.

* * *

it grows cold once more
the ice settling in my veins
like sediment.

Little yellow finch
Trilling a harmony
from the bird feeder.

April 3, 2012 Haiku #91

My bones are tired.
Eyes drooping with exhaustion.
But life is so short.

April 2, 2012 Haiku #89

It must kill you to know
I no longer think about you
more than a hundred times a day.

March 31, 2012 Haiku #88

Brittle, fragile strength
wrapped up in paper
and a bright red bow.

Friday, March 30, 2012

March 30, 2012 Haiku #87

The night dark and restless
like an unsatisfied lover
plagued by insomnia.

Thursday, March 29, 2012

March 29, 2012 Haiku #85 and #86

I think that I'm starting
to give up
this whole endeavor.

* * *

I forgot yesterday's haiku
It just didn't occur to me.
Whoops.

March 27, 2012 Haiku #84

Do you ever lose faith
in the people, in the world around you
do you ever want to scream?

Monday, March 26, 2012

March 26, 2012 Haiku #83

Just because I'm shy
doesn't mean you can't say hello
I get lonely, too.

Sunday, March 25, 2012

March 25, 2012 Haiku #82

I wish that I could soar
above the treetops
and play tag with the mockingbird.

Saturday, March 24, 2012

March 24, 2012 Haikus #80-81

I search for things to say
but sometimes words
seem to elude me.

* * *

Thousands of tiny specks
flying around in circles:
bug tornadoes.

March 22, 2012 Haiku #79

And it eats at you
Like a slow-spreading cancer
until there's nothing left.

Laughter and cool breezes
enfold us in their gentle arms
as we are reunited.
